"It was noon — bright, blue and dry. Without warning the light shimmered. I could scarcely move and just managed to roll my head up to the heavens. I squinted in the glare and gulped. Out from behind the sun emerged a million slithering, black weeds that slowly engulfed the star, swallowing its mass, its warmth and with it, its light. The quelling carried on and on until the light from the star coughed and spluttered meekly under layers of squirming grey. The weather dramatically changed right before our eyes and the air turned frigid. Blankets of dark clouds rolled in from across the horizons and now covered the expanse before us in a hellish haze of inky reds and inkier violets...
